The Folly of Brown Pride
A copy of a recent article I put up on the Get Real Post:
It already irks me to keep hearing Filipinos complain about other Filipinos using skin whitening products or liking foreign shows and products, saying it’s a sign that Filipinos are ashamed of themselves. I disagree with that view. I think loving white skin has nothing to do with shame.

Not trying to bring down white or fair skin here or shouting brown pride but I observe there are a lot of fair skinned "artists" that I think suck in acting. I'm not sure if this is an issue of skin color but it seems that broadcasting stations make having fair skin a more prioritized quality than being good at acting. I also don't see much darker-colored actors. Do you also remember GMA's Nita Negrita. Coloring a somehow fair-skinned actress black to be a negrita. That's just crazy.
