There is a sharp difference. Philippine oripun concepts are based on the idea that a debt stays as long as a person is alive, and debt could be transferred from father to child. But the Bible, in the OLD Testament, has laws for forgiving of debt, which are part of the Jubilee celebration. So the Bible encourages forgiving of debt if the debtor is truly unable to pay. On one hand, the oripun system of keeping people in debt, and on the other, the Biblical system of debt forgiveness.
